How to save money when you shower!

Looking at buying a new washing machine? Want to save money when you shower? Then check out Wellington Water’s new shower and laundry information leaflets.

The leaflets explain how to decipher the water star rating system so that you can choose a new water efficient washing machine or showerhead that saves you power (and money). Heating water for showers and washing machines usually makes up the biggest part of residential power bills.

Changing your old 24 litres per minute showerhead to a WELS 3-stars showerhead can save you up to $260 per person per year in power costs.

The new leaflets are available at your local appliance store and plumbing merchants – keep an eye out for them in store.

For more information about water efficient labels, check out wellingtonwater.co.nz/save.
